I was given the chance to take part in the Schick HydroSilk campaign on BzzAgent, and if you are not a member you tally should be! You get to voice your opinion and try out products! I am about to rave to you about how awesome the Schick Hydrosilk razor really is!
When I first opened the BzzAgent box and saw that I had my new razor, I knew I needed to make the time to use it right away. Good thing my little one wasn't home from PreK yet! When I stepped into the shower, I made sure that it was steamy hot. I said to myself, "I am going to use this without shaving cream". This is unheard of for me because my skin is really sensitive and tends to get cuts easy. If I was going to take the challenge...then I was going to take it on with full force.
I started to shave and once I was finished, it was the moment of truth. I turned off the water to the shower to survey my legs. Not a cut or nick in sight. Nada....zilch. I was shocked. This was the first razor I have ever used that has not left me with a cut SOMEWHERE when I was not using shaving cream.
The innovativeness about this razor is also shocking. The moisturizing serum really did it's job by keeping my legs moisturized as I moved the razor up my legs to shave. It is also very comfortable to use on your bikini line and underarms. I tend to always get irritation there and with the Shick Hydrosilk, I had none! The serum is water activated and so once you get in the shower it turns into it's own moisturizer. No shaving cream needed. It has five blades and so at first I was scared about cuts and nicks but it has curve sensing technology that goes with the flow of the leg rather than you having to tip toe around while shaving which saves a lot of time.
Schick does say that you can use with a shaving cream but with my experience doing it both ways, I find that just using body was on a loofah first and then shaving is all the moisturization that you need.
This is a refillable razor and they come in 4 pack refills. With my razor it came with one other replacement cartridge with the razor itself.
